If some West Wing flunky uses the Presidential autopen to sign a piece of legislation or a pardon, and the president isn't even aware or involved, is it legal? Democrats have to defend that question, and it's a sticky wicket. It's right up there with, ‘Is it possible to pardon someone for something with which they've not been criminally charged or found guilty?’ Or, how treasonous is it to have engaged in the practice of being the president during the organized cover-up of Joe Biden's infirmity, whatever the cause?
The hypocrats and Proglodytes are ill-prepared for the debate. Not the mostly normal working-class sort. I mean the died-in-the-blue-wool dems who will defend whatever, regardless. The ideological toddlers who want their way and don't care much how they get it. The ones that burn or deface Democrat-owned Teslas to get back at Elon Musk. An army of ill-informed, overcaffeinated, undiagnosed mental defectives. A small army of spoiled, resentful Veruca Salts.
I want the revolution now, Daddy!
The autopen, Joe’s mental incapacity, and the exercise of executive power absent the executive whom America is alleged to have elected. The coverup of whatever was done in his name.
These are complex legal and precedent-setting considerations. The autopen, for example, is already a questionable use of technology to simulate the will of an elected Executive. If its use by some aide or staffer based on a presumption of the President's intent is legal, why not skip the billions in wasted campaign dollars and use them to feed those children you keep insisting suffer from food insecurity instead?
Autopen 2028.
Democrats could just run that. Think of how we might be unburdened by what has been. Bad candidates who have to lie endlessly. Fake accents depending on the crowd. No more BS about strength through Joy or pathetic VP white-Boy whisperers because Dems are worried that sh!ting on men of no color for decades might have electoral consequences.
Autopen 2028!
It sounds like a plan, assuming Democrats and the Autopen survive the legal and ethical consequences. By this, I mean the scrutiny of the act itself and its public defense.
[Ed] Martin named three top suspects in his probe into the pardons and the autopen: Anita Dunn, Bob Bauer, and Ron Klain. Bauer and Dunn are married, with the former being present for Biden’s deposition with Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was investigating Biden for mishandling classified documents while serving as Obama’s vice president.
Your skepticism, given the lack of arrests, over anything on either side that appears unethical or outright treasonous, is noted. Punishment to date look something like a book deal and a media tour. Like Jake Tapper, who aided and abetted the Biden Incapacity Fraud and now stands to make millions from a book about how we all should have known better.
We did no better, but no book deals for us.
And recent arrests of judges or Mayors aside, the political class continues to benefit from the unspoken armor of insider collusion. Everyone is a little dirty, so let's not make this a thing.
Unless you're Donald Trump—and that gives me hope. He did not benefit from the secret handshake agreement and may, hopefully, pursue accountability for past ills to as yet unseen heights. He has the mandate, the power, and the momentum. The FBI and DoJ are his, and there is a lot of dirty laundry inside the Beltway that needs cleaning.
While we wait, the Autopen 2028 campaign strikes me as something the Dem Superdelgates could get behind. The DNC, too. They've been "picking" the candidate for the last several elections, regardless of what primary voters want. Nothing democratic about it, hence the reason we call them Democrats and the Democratic Party. But who should be surprised by that? This is a party of elites. They know better, and if their voters don't, whose fault is that? Underfunded public schools, obviously. We need to launder more money through the teachers' unions.
Autopen 2028 will have its full-throated support unless someone argues that if Executive orders, laws, and pardons can be authorized by machine, then why not replace anthropogenic propagandists in classrooms with something similar? It's not like you're giving them grades or anything. Pop in the 21st-century equivalent of a Leni Riefenstahl video and consider your job done.
The state is omnipotent. Rat out your parents. War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength. Autopen 2028!
All you need to guarantee the nomination is for Bernie Sanders to run, too.
Done deal.
So, who does Authopen "pick" as their VP?
How about TelePromter?
I've seen semi-serious proposals not for autopen, but for AI.
