Do We Want Them to Learn Lessons?
It is against the law to obstruct federal officers and agents...no matter who the President is, and besides, they still don't have your back.
The angry left continues to make mistakes that have profound implications. Not just hand-raising and a little bit of 'pick me, please,' but also advertising: press announcements, public statements. Hey, we’re not just saying we’re going to break the law; we are encouraging others to do it for us.
The latter makes a lot more sense. When Dem politicians scamper to mouth breathe on the nearest microphone about “we” need to stop ICE, with a few rare exceptions, they mean you. That’s right out of the playbook. You pay for our ideas, be it taxes, the suffocating weight of regulations, or giving up rights for a false sense of security. They say. They take you give. You often suffer, and sometimes die. Too often die - at the end of left-wing compassion. It’s brutal.
Democrat policy ought to be tracked by the CDC as a cause of death, but not to get off track, the Police Chief in Minneapolis has stepped up and volunteered his officers' lives and careers on the altar of progressive obstruction.
In the wake of dozens of Somalians in Minnesota being convicted and sentenced for fraud, to the tune of $1 billion of taxpayer funds, and President Trump saying that immigrants from the African nation “contribute nothing” to the nation, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara is advising people to call 911 if they see masked individuals in their neighborhood – a reference to some ICE agents who’ve worn masks to protect themselves from doxxing and other risks.
“Provide as much information as possible. … We will immediately respond,” O’Hara said at a city press conference.
The chief says he has reminded his officers “of their duty to intervene” in such incidents, during which someone’s “civl rights” may be at risk.
Interfering with federal officers enforcing laws passed by Congress is a crime. Obstruction of justice, and then, whatever else happens, should any Minni-PD street cop opt to get between them and the criminals they are charged with arresting.
You will be arrested, detained, confined, and charged, and all of that is perfectly legal and justifiable, but the Chief may just be talking out of his ass for press points. Since the days of Saint George, Minni PD has been severely understaffed. The union representing the officers has an ongoing feud with Chief O’Hara.
The union has highlighted that the Minneapolis Police Department is facing its lowest staffing levels in years, which they believe hampers effective policing and community safety.
Officers do not feel adequately supported, they are unhappy with recent contracts, and a failure to address corruption and improve accountability. Are these cops going to break off from whatever they are doing to interfere with the legal apprehension of illegal aliens, both criminally present and on evidence of crimes, they lack the staff and support to address?
ICE, DHS, FBI, and the rest are going to make their job easier, and if the Chief doesn’t see that, then he’s a bigger meat puppet of civilian leadership than the average.
Tom Homann, by the way, had some words for the Chief and the city top-heavy with crime, corruption, fraud, and the Somalis alleged to be perpetrating it.
My guess is that civilians and a few “politicians” and “activists” will try to impede ICE to burnish their social street justice resumes. You won’t see any local cops unless things get violent and they need to address a purely domestic incident tangential to whatever Federal agents are doing.
They won’t be there to stop ICE. They’d be crazy to do it. But if they do, well - lessons learned, yeah. That federal law, legally exercised, has primacy on the matter of immigration enforcement, and you’ll need your Democratic legislators in Congress to change it. Something they had plenty of opportunities to do but never did.
They didn’t have your back after the Floyd thing, and they won’t have it now. Your best bet is to be busy with some other crime, and you won’t have trouble finding any.

When people interfere with ICE and other law enforcement agencies, they should be arrested and prosecuted.
