It's Not a Racism Problem, It's a Democrat Problem

The modern identity politics race pimps peddling Critical Race Theory and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion tell us that reverse racism is impossible. It is not a thing. Black people can hate whites and deny them opportunities or jobs or even rental space, and that’s not discrimination. I would argue that you can do all those things if that’s you being you, but that it is still racist and discriminatory, but I’m white, so my opinion doesn’t count (even if it is also Martin Luther King Jr’s opinion).

He’s so last century.

But what about blacks being racist against other blacks? The Biden Administration has released a report labeling the City of Memphis as a bunch of intolerant police state racists. It claims the Police department targets black people.

Memphis police officers regularly violate the rights of the people they are sworn to serve. Our investigation found that officers use force to punish and retaliate against people who do not immediately do as they say. They rapidly escalate encounters, including traffic stops, and use excessive force even when people are already handcuffed or restrained. They resort to intimidation and threats. They have put themselves and others in harm’s way—officers have unlawfully fired at moving cars and accidentally pepper sprayed and fired Tasers at each other."

It sounds like an out-of-control frat house. And I’m not saying I disagree with the DOJ report in general, but KWAM News Radio Memphis (The Mighty 990) had some facts pertinent to the debate it shared on X. Trigger warning: the staff page is littered with a bunch of white people and a Dalmatian (primarily white).

Since the Summer of Love, we’ve had a gay old time (old meaning) reminding people that the cities that BLM was destroying and the people they were complaining about were all managed by Democrats. Run by them. Overseen by them. Its officers are disciplined - or not - by political partisans not just recently but for decades. Any systemic racism was the result of Democrat policy and (depending on your view) mismanagement or indifference. From elected Dem officials to Dem unions to local stakeholders (the race pimps, all Democrats), it was all left-wing from top to bottom and with the assistance of local Black leaders.

Memphis, the home of the blues, is a Black majority city run by blacks with a black-on-black crime problem, … not because of black people but because of Democrat people. And now the Biden administration - about as Democrat a thing as you can imagine - has the nerve to suggest that the city is filled with racists, and they are running or in the police department.

This is impossible based on its commitment or pandering to the approved DEI/CRT narrative. Black people can’t be racist. That’s established. But then it’s not. Prominent blacks, many of whom came from Democrat ghettoes, who have risen to prominence or success - who are not Democrats or do not bend the knee to its policies, agenda, or dictates, are racists. The list is long and distinguished for Tom Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, and Tim Scott. Every walk of life has them, and their refusal to be held back by Democrat stereotypes or politics that keep black Americans down makes them racists despite the exception mentioned above.

Racism in this context is not about skin color or national origin; it is a tool wielded to gain political advantage. So, what does the Biden administration want with Memphis? It might just want recognition that after the beating death of Trye Nichols - by Black police officers, it has made an appropriate offering “to the Black Community,” absent some details.

The five officers arrested for his murder were all Black.

“Several of the "Cops" who beat Tyre Nichols to death might be Vice Lords Street Gang Members who were embedded into the Memphis Police Department after it allegedly lowered its standards in a desperate need to get bodies into uniforms.

In other words, it might be a gang hit.

No one seems to have pursued that, but all five are serving jail time, none of them for murder or manslaughter. They are looking at 10-20 years in prison for something they say is a common practice on the MPD (Beating suspects who run).

MPD lowered its hiring standards as well as requirements to pass after BLMing the force to a point where it just needed bodies in uniforms on the street.

That’s not a Black people problem. That’s a Democrat problem. The fact that Memphis is run by black Democrats is just proof of concept. Bad management isn’t racial; it's political, and unless a majority of people in Memphis vote for something else, none of this is going to get better, no matter how many reports the DoJ issues.
