Some have found themselves on their backfoot after the Republican National Convention. Amber Rose announced from the podium that she was with her people. Rose is a tattooed pro-choice feminist, among other things, who says she left the Democrats to become a Trump Republican because they "love everybody whether you're Black, white, gay or straight."
It isn't getting as much press as the Butler, PA, story, but some might find it no less startling. How does such a woman find herself as a featured speaker on the stage at the Republican National Convention?
Are there other women out there like her realizing that there is more to the "choice" argument than just abortion? What if - stay with me here - there is more to women's health care, dignity, prosperity, and human female liberty than the ability to end whatever is growing in your uterus?
There is, and I’m here to help.
What Extremism?
Many states and most Western democracies allow a woman unrestricted access to abortion in the earliest months of pregnancy. Many allow it up to six months. My home state permits unrestricted abortion in the first six months of pregnancy, with medical exceptions after that. And while I believe life begins at conception, I also accept that I live in a culture where my ideas must freely exist around those of others. Ideas frame cultural morality, which drives policy, and it isn’t always the policy we’d prefer. If it matters to me, my charge is to be persistent, convincing, or compelling. To make a case.
I think there is a case to be made that women voting based on so-called abortion rights is bad for their privacy, other rights, and health.
For example, did you know that support for abortion declines precipitously after six months? Only about 30% of Americans believe it is okay to perform late-term abortions. Few, if any, think it reasonable as birth approaches. Most of that 30% are elected Democrats or hardcore progressives who, once in office, are not permitted to support a more moderate position. Moderates are bullied or aborted from office.
What that means (if I wasn’t clear) is if you are voting for Democrats to “protect” abortion, that vote gets you abortions that are rarely performed and that few, if any, support - but that’s not all you get. You get the rest of their destructive agenda along with it.
Slipped Masks
Democrats like to talk about your right to your person, body, or privacy, but given the chance, that all goes out the window. Choice, privacy, bodily autonomy, employment or economic liberties, and, of course, religious freedom get the jackboot. Your rights to speech, assembly, and association take a back seat to political will, and liberal women don’t get an “out” unless they are in elected office (or so it seems).
A true tyranny of the elite.
COVID showed us what they really believe and the kind of power over us they are prepared to exert.
And what makes you think they wouldn’t do that again or aren’t pining for an opportunity if they aren't looking for one? Will there be another pharmaceutical intervention—oral, transdermal, injected, or inhaled? Take it. It's safe and Effective. No informed consent. We don't have time. No questions, no objections, no exclusions.
It’s not your body anymore. It belongs to them, and this is for the community.
If you refuse, your other freedoms are forfeit. They won't let you out in public. You might lose your job (if you still have one). Your face might end up on the wall in the post office.
That happened, and its facilitators, advocates, and enforcers were the leaders of the Democrat parties at every level of government.
Challenging this got you blacklisted as a denier, a liar, and a peddler of misinformation. Your speech was suppressed online. Employment might become impossible. Life-saving surgery may henceforth be beyond your reach if you don't comply.
They wanted that control. They still do.
The Community
I mentioned the community above. Everyone, especially Democrat women, should be scared shitless of this reality. They should fear the Left’s community before individual rights arguments. What if (one day) the community decided it needed more babies to prevent demographic (and socioeconomic) collapse? What then? Feminist street theater with white bonnets and red robes. Eyes forward, no talking.
That is the imagery used by the left to portray life under Republicans, but as usual, it is projection. Given what we know post-pandemic and the evidence of how they legislate and rule, what would they not do in the name of the community (that is to say, in the name of communism, where you own nothing, you do not even own yourself)?
Anything is possible, and COVID proved that.
Side Effects
Voting Democrat to protect third-trimester abortion has real consequences for everyone’s rights.
Democrats relied heavily on abortion fearmongering in 2020 and 2022. They will use it again in 2024, but how’d that work out? Put gas in your car, go to the grocery store, try to find a home or rent you can afford, or walk a city street at night. If you have a job, the paycheck doesn't go as far. Crime is on the rise. Fear is creeping closer to home. Our world is increasingly limited.
Democrats are provoking a bear armed with nuclear weapons in Eastern Europe and aggravating tensions in the Middle East (wars they make you pay for despite your declining lifestyles). Homeless camps are growing. The debt and spending are out of control. Airports and hotels are overflowing with illegal aliens. Diseases we thought were gone from our shores are rising again. Children can’t read or do math. Everyone is on edge. The promised unity was not delivered (we got the opposite), and saying the wrong thing about any of that can cancel you even if you claim to be one of them.
Your government actively works to censor speech and subvert news and opinion that contradicts its control narratives.
And they want those crowds of illegal aliens to vote in your elections, subverting your right to choose your representatives.
The Original Choice Argument
I realize I’ve been all over the place, but I hope you’ve been able to follow along to this point. Is the cost to life and liberty, all of it, everywhere, and forever, worth risking to protect a practice few agree with, and fewer will ever embrace (extreme late-term abortion)?
Is any of it worth the loss of the original pro-choice argument: individual liberty?
Elected Democrats have demonstrated what their priorities are, and your right to deny them control of your person is not on that list.
You will agree with them or shut up, but maybe there are a growing number of women like Amber Rose (remember her) who are coming to realize that the Democrat party agenda is not worth the price because it is the rest of your life on that line.
People need to read the entire bill. Most include gender affirming care for children.
